ProLink CMS Monitoring System Is Simple in Every Respect
Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCCL), a CEMEX company, was looking for an additional monitoring solution for monitoring the main drives of its cement mill. Until now, only handheld devices were used for monitoring. CCCL decided to use Schaeffler ProLink CMS for continuous monitoring in the future. With this predictive maintenance solution, maintenance is alerted to changes in the cement mill at an early stage.

For monitoring the planetary gears of the cement mill, Schaeffler suggested monitoring with the ProLink CMS.
This is a multi-channel condition condition monitoring system. It is preferred for machines with variable operating conditions and harsh ambient conditions, such as surface temperatures of more than than 70 °C.
CEMEX uses the 16-channel ProLink CMS to monitor the condition of the bearings and gears with eight dual sensors mounted on the vertical planetary gear. Vibrations and temperature are measured.
Since the commissioning of the monitoring system, no failures have been detected and there have been no unplanned breakdowns of the cement mill.
